Did you guys know that YouTube is the #2 search engine on the internet. Number 2 people. Second only to Google. Obviously we like our videos. There are tons of truly awesome woodworking, building, and refinishing channels on YouTube So, with that train of thought, I figured I’d share my subscription list with you guys.
My friend Sandra from Sawdust Girl is hilarious and super talented. She is the undisputed Queen of Built-ins. I’m sure a lot of you read her blog, but have you watched her videos?
Woodworking With the Wood Whisperer is like shop class, but on your computer. Extensive topics list and extremely detailed tutorials.
Want to learn how to build stuff and laugh your butt off? Steve Ramsey’s channel Woodworking for Mere Mortals is beyond entertaining. I’ll click a video to learn something and always end up clicking a couple more for entertainment.
The first time I watched a video from The Wooden Tool Man, my jaw was on the floor. This guy is brilliant! The way he comes up with jigs and tools is fascinating. Definitely worth clicking over!
Well, after you build something, you’ve got to know how to finish it. Bruce Johnson is a legend in the woodworking world, and I was lucky enough to meet him last year at SNAP. Bruce is the resident host over at the MinwaxUSA channel, and full of great tips and tricks.
Getting old school. Did anyone else watch The Old House as a kid when you were home sick from school? Just me? Well, I was a weird kid. Either way, the This Old House channel can teach you how to DIY just about anything around the home. Want to learn how to install a toilet? Patch flooring? Remove a load bearing wall? Well, watch a few videos and you can.
And lastly, I thought I’d throw in my guilty pleasure. I may or may not be guilty of 8-hour How Its Made binges. Although I’ll probably never make pantyhose or a jet-ski myself, I like knowing the process. I perfect channel for the curious nerd like me.
While I’m mentioning YouTube channels, this would be the perfect time to shamelessly self-promote. You can find my YouTube channel here. I currently only have a couple of tutorials up, but there will be many more soon to come, so be sure to subscribe!
What do you like to watch? I’m always on the lookout for awesome new channels!

Thank you for sharing these great you tube channels I did not know about. I only knew one of them which was Sawdust Girl. I hope to learn enough to build something simple. I would be so excited….just a little chicken.

i love YouTube but when i open it i always get sidetracked: i learn a lot but mostly about stuff i wasn't originally searching. i subscribed to all the blogs for the channels you mentioned to avoid the 'it's midnight and i'm still watching YouTube!' problem that i have frequently.
