It’s freaking summer already people! This year is flying by so fast! My house was actually clean the other day, so I decided it was time to finally show you guys a little more of my house.
I’ve never claimed to be a designer. My tastes are so random. I don’t really have a decor “style”. I simply build furniture I like and I put that furniture in my house. It ends up being a random mix, like my Industrial Coffee Table and my mid-century-ish, One Board end table.
Our new house is a bit smaller than our old one, so utilizing space is crucial. I don’t have an official office. I use my Floating Top Console Table for a desk and my Industrial Storage Cubbies as a filing cabinet.
The curtains are Ikea Sanela panels in Dark Turquoise, and the rug is the LAPPLJUNG RUTA, also from the magically place called Ikea. The pillows I found at Society 6 and my end table is the Gold Hexagon end table I knocked off from Urban Outfitters.
When I first shared my DIY kitchen remodel, I hadn’t installed the West Elm pendant lights. I’m a major tight-wad. I have never bought anything from a “catalog” type store before but, I spent months trying to find something I liked as much as these globe pendants, and finally broke down and bought a pair when they were on sale.
I still want to kiss my apron front sink every day. If you’re interested in installing your own, check out this tutorial.
Well, those are pretty much the only two rooms that are “done”. We have lots of fun ideas for the bathrooms and den that we are going to get working on soon. As soon as I have some progress, I’ll definitely share. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy the rare sight of my clean kitchen.
Let’s be friends! Follow along, so you never miss a post

I'm so glad you posted this! I feel the same way about my "style" in my home. I'm glad I'm not the only one! Your house looks great and I love seeing all your builds and how you incorporate them into your home. Keep up the great work! I love following you!
